ON 9/11/01...I WAS SLEEPING IN BECAUSE I HAD MY CLASS IN THE AFTERNOON MY MOM CAME INTO MY ROOM AND WOKE TURNING ON MY T.V. TELLING ME THAT THE TWIN TOWERS WERE BEING ATTACKED.  AS I WAS WATCHING THE PLANES GO INTO THE TOWNS I BOTH SHOCKED AND SCARED.  THE EVENTS OF THAT DAY FOR ME NOW MAKE ME PROUD THAT WE ARE A PROUD STRONG COUNTRY.  WE COME BACK FIGHTING AND I AM SO PROUD OF THIS COUNTRY AND WHAT WE HAVE DONE TO SHOW THE WORLD WE ARE STRONG AND WILL NOT BACK DOWN.

That is right kids we have returned!  We came back on Monday with Mike’s grandma who will be staying with us till Friday and his mom will be driving her back on Friday and spend the weekend with her.  Plus she will get to see her sisters as well which will be good. When we were coming back home yesterday I felt sick and today still not feeling any better so I am taking it easy.  Mike got the new Grand Theft Auto game for the Xbox he is playing it right now as we speak.  The stuff with accident is ok, while we were gone I got another hospitable bill from HB which my lawyer will be handling I will be taking my car to get it estimated as well and let him see the estimates but he will be dealing with the medical side.  Like I mentioned before in my earlier voice posts mike and I did shopping among other things.  One of theses things I saw at the bonanza which is a huge gift shop in LV. They have all kinds of stuff in there, for example the CSI: LV apparel.  One thing that stood out was this.  I’ll include the link as well the pictures from our trip in LV will be up shortly.  Oh by the way  you are my Nick savior!!  Love the banner.

That’s rights kids mike and me are going to Sin City this coming Tuesday till the 28th!!  Yay!  We had not had a vacation since we moved into the new house so we decided to take one.  We are leaving right after the conference so about I say…3:30 – 4:00 then we are off.  The plan is we are driving to Las Vegas, staying at his Gram’s the whole time we are there but on Thursday we are going to stay at hotel on the strip.  Of course in the last post I did I’m sooo going shopping for his mom and me for CSI Las Vegas apparel.  It will be real nice to have a week to ourself’s and forget all that has been happening the past few week’s.

I have watched and fell in love with Sweeney Todd!  The new one with Johnny Depp and Helen botham Carter.  They are magic together just like Corpse Bride.  Helen as Mrs. Lovett I think everyone would agree was just kick ass.  Johnny owned Sweeney, that movie even though gory was just breathtaking.  I also love Juno.  Ellen page as a young pregnant mother and the transformation she goes through is just amazing.  It has J.K. Simmons from The Closer as her dad and he was funny as all hell.  I recommend both of these movies.

I think since we moved into the new house it has been interesting.  I mean the house is just what mike’s parents have been looking for all of us.  It’s nice and big but also too we are a block from HB hospitable where I was taken to after the accident, then on the left the cemetery where my uncle is buried and I almost went to interview there and then on the left is the church.  So I think it’s what we all call irony.  But the hearing the bells is something else.  I mean at my parent’s house they have up the street from a church but you could only hear the bells on Sunday or other occasions, but this church goes off on an hourly basis, which I think is nice.  I’m just sooo excited about the trip now it’s like 2 days till and I’m just ready to go now, you know??

I’ll set up the call in LJ through my phone to give you guy’s updates through out the vacation and what not.  And of course...as (Lucky the tabby zooms past my chair) always there will be pictures when we get back.

Hi guys,

I know it has seemed that I have disappeared from the face of the earth but I haven’t I swear!  I been busy, got a sort of new job, planning a vaca with the honey, finally getting a good overtime check from my ex-work and oh yeah…getting into a car accident(only on Friday March 28).  First thing is I sort of got a new job set through a friend of mind that I have known forever, it is in the mall where I use to work so that is good but he forgot to mention that was that half of the time it was CALL-IN basis.  So I only worked like 2 full days and I’m pissed I only made like $30.  Mike and I are going to look for a new job that gives me both the hours and the money I deserve.

The vacation situation mike and I are going to VEGAS at the end of April month for 6 days spending time with his grandma and his family and my friends and with each other of course.  I am so getting CSI: LV stuff for both his mom and me since are big fans of that show.  On Easter Sunday mike and I told my parents about the engagement and surprisingly they were surprised and then actually congratulated us!!  I showed them the ring and told them the whole story and after that I felt a big weight being lifted from my shoulders.  That was a relief, I can tell you.  I got a new job through an old friend and I like it, I need more hours it’s all good though.

The check from my ex-job will be a wonderful relief.  I applied through the state on reporting overtime and just in the middle of last month I finally got the paperwork for it, I do have to go to Santa Ana for a conference but so far I should be collecting 3,000.  That will help with a lot of things, including rent, paying off the credit card, car insurance, etc.  The car accident from the 28th of March, mike and are were heading to the banks after he got his check from work, we were in my car and I was driving.  The guy behind me hears a horn and was looking the other way and hit me from the back.  I did not see him I just felt my car getting hit.  Mike got out my car so fast, the guy did not run thank goodness, but we called the police department but instead of sending out a black and white they sent a civilian collision investigator…who by the way was a total jackass to both mike and me. The guy who hit me did not have his driver license on him and his insured as a high risk which makes it more fun.

While Mike was the brave one and handling this BS, I got whiplash from getting hit from behind and told the investigator my neck was hurting.  After saying I was fine it started to hit, he looked bored when I said I needed the paramedic and I swear this is what I heard as he radioed dispatch “the injured party is NOW requesting paramedics.”  I wanted to kick his ass.  After a few moments after the call Huntington Beach fire department came, and started to asset me for injuries.

After they were done they called in Westminster EMT’s to transport me to Huntington Beach hospitable were I spent 3 lovely hours and 600 x-ray’s later the doctor said my x-ray’s were clear and that he was going to prescribe vicodin and muscle relax for my whiplash and my back because of the backboard I was on in the ambulance.  So here I am the 2nd day in April and my back still is not any better and the meds only seem to work for a time but Mike wants me to take my vicodin when I’m pain and rest but who can I??  I get to do our laundry!!  Oh yay me. Below enjoy the pictures from Easter; you can kind of see my engagement ring and the indent the guy who hit me last Friday.

I heard this from mike’s mom tonight, but I just read the article.  It is so sad.

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger, the talented 28-year-old actor who gravitated toward dark, brooding roles that defied his leading-man looks, was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment, facedown at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby, police said.

There was no obvious indication that the Australian-born Ledger had committed suicide, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the SoHo apartment that is believed to be the home of the "Brokeback Mountain" actor, Browne said. The massage therapist and a housekeeper found his naked body at about 3:30 p.m. They tried to revive him, but he was already dead.

"I had such great hope for him," said Mel Gibson, who played Ledger's vengeful father in "The Patriot," in a statement. "He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss."

Outside the Manhattan building on an upscale street, paparazzi and gawkers gathered, and several police officers put up barricades to control the crowd of about 300. Onlookers craned their necks as officers brought out a black bodybag on a gurney, took it across the sidewalk and put it into a medical examiner's office van.

As the door opened, bystanders snapped pictures with camera phones, rolled video and said, "He's coming out!"

An autopsy was planned for Wednesday, medical examiner's office spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said.

While not a marquee movie star, Ledger was an award-winning actor who chose his roles carefully rather than cashing in on big-money parts. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain." During filming, he met Michelle Williams, who played his wife in the film. The two had a daughter, now 2-year-old Matilda, and lived together in Brooklyn until they split up last year.

It was a shocking and unforeseen conclusion for one of Hollywood's bright young stars. Though his leading man looks propelled him to early stardom in films like "10 Things I Hate About You" and "A Knight's Tale," his career took a notable turn toward dramatic and brooding roles with 2001's "Monster's Ball."

Ledger's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, said in a statement: "We are all deeply saddened and shocked by this accident. This is an extremely difficult time for his loved ones and we are asking the media to please respect the family's privacy and avoid speculation until the facts are known."

In the Australian city of Perth, where Ledger was born and raised, his father called the actor's death "tragic, untimely and accidental."

"He was (a) down-to-earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving, unselfish individual, extremely inspirational to many," Kim Ledger said, reading from a prepared statement. "Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life."

Ledger eschewed Hollywood glitz in favor of a bohemian life in Brooklyn, where he became one of the borough's most famous residents. "Brokeback" would be his breakthrough role, establishing him as one of his generation's finest talents and an actor willing to take risks.

Ledger began to gravitate more toward independent fare, including Lasse Hallstrom's "Casanova" and Terry Gilliam's "The Brothers Grimm," both released in 2005. His 2006 film "Candy" now seems destined to have an especially haunting quality: In a particularly realistic performance, Ledger played a poet wrestling with a heroin addiction along with his girlfriend, played by Abbie Cornish.

But Ledger's most recent choices were arguably the boldest yet: He costarred in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan ƒƒ‚‚ as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

And in what may be his final finished performance, Ledger proved that he wouldn't be intimidated by taking on a character as iconic as Jack Nicholson's Joker. Ledger's version of the "Batman" villain, glimpsed in early teaser trailers, made it clear that his Joker would be more depraved and dark.

Curiosity about Ledger's final performance will likely stoke further interest in the summer blockbuster. "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan said this month that Ledger's Joker would be wildly different from Nicholson's.

"It was a very great challenge for Heath," Nolan said. "He's extremely original, extremely frightening, tremendously edgy. A very young character, a very anarchic presence that taps into a lot of our basic fears and panic."

Ledger told The New York Times in a November interview that he "stressed out a little too much" during the Dylan film and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy."

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told the newspaper. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." He said he took two Ambien pills, which worked for only an hour, the paper said.

Ledger was a widely recognized figure in his Manhattan neighborhood, where he used to shop at a home and children's store. Michelle Vella, an employee there, said she had frequently seen Ledger with his daughter ƒƒ‚‚ carrying the toddler on his shoulders, or having ice cream with her.

"It's so sad. They were really close," Vella said. "He's a very down-to-earth guy and an amazing father."

Before settling down with Williams, Ledger had relationships with actresses Heather Graham and Naomi Watts. He met Watts while working on "The Lords of Dogtown," a fictionalized version of a cult classic skateboarding documentary, in 2004.

Ledger was born in 1979 to a mining engineer and a French teacher and got his first acting role playing Peter Pan at age 10 in a local theater company. He began acting in independent films as a 16-year-old in Sydney and played a cyclist hoping to land a spot on an Olympic team in a 1996 television show, "Seat."

After several independent films, Ledger moved to Los Angeles at age 19 and starred opposite Julia Stiles in "10 Things I Hate About You." Offers for other teen flicks soon came his way, but Ledger turned them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he didn't like.

"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, 'You're crazy,' my parents were like, 'Come on, you have to eat.'"

Hey guys,

So remember I told you how my dad was being an ass to me and ruined my Christmas right before Mike Proposed?  Well it has been almost 2 months when I received this:

Cori,

How are you? Well let me get down to it, I know as
much as we both wanted things to work out they just
didn't and we spent the holidays apart and that is
just very sad.

What I wanted to talk about is trying to move forward
and get things back on the right track. We need to do
this for two reasons.

First mom and I love and miss you very much. Secondly
this whole thing has driven a wedge between Grandma,
you and us. This cannot go on because of our love for
you and Grandma and because Grandma may not have a lot
of time left.

You see Grandma goes in for more testing this week and
her health may be at risk. We need to work things out
between us so we can spend time with you and so we all
can continue to help and support her.

What I would like to do is for you and I to go out to
Grandma's on Sunday to work things out. This will mean
that we have to talk honestly and work out all these
misconceptions and misunderstandings.

Please give me a call so we can talk about it.

Love,
Dad

MY RESPONSE:

Dad,
Hi to you too.  Im doing fine thank you for  asking.  But like you, this is a business e-mail, so  its get to it. The  holidays we were not best that much is true but you
made pretty clear you didnt want me at Christmas after what you said, you
never listen to me so I  did not go because I did not want a confrontation on
Christmas in front of  everyone.  I agree this has put a wedge  between us and that is not good, nor is it good for  Steve to mean to Grams.  Grams is stronger than you  think, and I want her to be happy.  She did  nothing wrong, you should have not to been so mean  to her and ignore her for  nothing.  Yes I been in contact with her  and she has told me about her appointments and has  promised to call if anything  happens.  Sunday will work, but after  3:00PM.  I have a new job and I’m  working Sunday, and I’ll be ready after then.
Grams has been informed and she would like to see  us, one condition, its  you and me only.   We do need to talk, but how you stated work out all > these misconceptions and misunderstandings.  We can do  that but just so you know all I did was be truthful
to Grams, nothing  more.  The ball is in your court dad.

HIS RESPONSE:

Cori,

Ok, let's try to get all this taken care of. The only
problem I see is the time, 3:00 is a little late for a
Sunday. Is either Saturday or Monday a better day for
you?

Let me know.

Dad.

MY RESPONSE:

Sunday is the only day I am available to  come.  During the week I can’t make it, I  work till 8:00PM.  Gram’s knows  this.  So it’s Sunday, if you are still  on.

HIS RESPONSE:

Cori,

Ok, Sunday it is. Try to make it over as soon as you
get off work.

After we see Grandma Tom, we have been invited to
Grandma and Grandpa Pumphrey's for dinner. Would you
like to go?

Then yesterday was my ONLY day off and then I get this…

Cori,

We haven't heard from you about going to Grandma and
Grandpa Pumphrey's for dinner on Sunday after we see
Grandma Tom. Please let us know so we can make plans.

Dad

So I told him that I be there to shut him up.  Ain’t he a gent??

I had to do a post about this.  I was watching TV with Mike and his dad and his dad had the channel on TRV TV.  Now we like to watch the cop shows on there.  Well on the commercial break, there was a commercial adverting a show that was way over due.  It’s called: Ocean Force: Huntington Beach, O.C.!  The show is described as this from the website Http://www.trutv.com/shows/ocean_force/index.html It's real hard-driving action direct from Huntington Beach, OC, one of the world's most beautiful, and sometimes most dangerous, beaches. Handling everything from drunken brawls to dangerous open water rescues, see why life's a beach for the lifeguards who never stop working to make playtime safe.   So I started recording on our DV-R and that show is freaking awesome.  and I have been living here in Huntington Beach forever and I go downtown a lot and never knew what goes down there.  So mike and I watch that show all the time now.

But one of the episode of Mike and I were watching was during the end, there was this life guardwho's married and he was putting suntan lotion on and he took off his wedding ring and a co-worker of his dropped the wedding into this pile of sand.  After coming back from a call, the lifeguard and his 2 co-workers went back and started looking for the ring because the lifeguard who took his ring off realized he didn’t have on.  He was looking a pile near the tower he was at and they were working furiously.  But that was not the funny part, I think the crowing moment was the narrator, he was just funny.  The way he first set up that clip got you ready and it shows this lifeguard who is panicky because if he didn’t find the ring his wedding ring, his wife was going to have him sleep on the couch for the next 2 weeks.  I wish I could find that clip, but sadly they don’t have it…L

So here is what happened that day before Mike proposed to me.  My dad was acting like a totally ass to me over something stupid and making me feel like crap at the bottom of his shoe.  Blaming me for some family stuff that I did not do and so forth, and wanted me to fix everything.  The call that we were having he was just not appropriate before Christmas but he did not seem to care and just blame me and wanted me to do everything for me because he’s still not man enough to take responsibility.  After our conversation I was crying for an hour and mike came home for lunch and noticed it and I told him what my dad said to me.  After talking with my family and talking once again with my dad and when he realized it was not going his way he disowned me for not lying for him.  So after that Jerry Springer moment, I went with mike’s parents to drop off some baskets his mom made and after we got home got mike and drove to Newport Beach and went to dinner at restaurant called: The Five Crowns” we waited there for nearly 3 hours and there were carolers, there the 5 yards.  We finally had dinner and mike was so nervous that I was just trying to relax with my family that I had not idea what was about to happen.  So after dinner his parents went to do own thing mike asked me to walk with him.  We started walking towards the bar section and mike changed his mind so we went back to the fireplace near the entrance of the bar.  He had me set down, and told me he loved me then took out the box which was still fully wrapped and got down one knee and asked me to open the box and it was one of those 2 sided pull apart boxes and inside was 2 rings one being my engagement ring and the other being the band it’s self.  It’s one of those 2 in 1 rings.  I was sobbing rivers, and said yes a million times plus. [info]cinderella81 already has been informed as well as my grams and our other best friends in LV, which a chose of a few friends... ;)  I know it’s like 2 days late but I thought it was a nice Christmas present for all my friends…=)  pictures will be a coming soon!
